“In an age where everyone is a paparazzi, it’s becoming increasingly difficult for any photographer to surprise us. Like Mick Rock, David Levine is one of those photographers who was in the right place at the right time and has written his work into history.” Boy George
2016 sees Archive celebrating their 20th year with a new self-produced studio album, The False Foundation. The band has teamed up with music photographer David Levine, who has been involved in the visuals for the project False Foundation from the beginning. This digital fan book is the result of that partnership. Featuring stills, videos, and interviews, it’s the must have visual record of the road trip from this year’s European Tour.
Having survived the death of Ian Dury, one of the band’s founder members. The Blockheads, after a few years of turmoil, reformed and are still touring to sell-out crowds. With a varying line-up of players, this lineup is the “A team”.
Featuring all the original surviving members plus Derek The Draw and John Roberts. I knew Ian in the 80‘s, and although I never worked with him, there was never a dull moment at his apartment overlooking Hammersmith Bridge.
Brothers Michael and Robert Coles along with Matthew Hall’s indie band Little Comets is one of the most exciting new acts in the UK. This book’s exclusive images are from their sell-out gig at the world famous Shepherd’s Bush Empire London. At the time of publication they have just completed their second sellout tour of the USA.
Live in the UK 2013 – 2014
Chuck D, turned RAP upside down by giving it an edge that it hadn’t had before. Not for the faint hearted, Public Enemy’s success was meteoric. They soon came to be viewed by some as, “Public Enemy No1”. Misunderstood by most, loved by many, missed by me for years until I managed to hook up with them in London in 2012.
I managed to arrange exclusive access to their one and only Gig in Brighton… And what a show it was! What an act! What energy! They truly worked hard for the crowd at the sellout show. Leaving the fans with no uncertainty, that they still have it!!
Best gig I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen a few. I hope you like the images.
